8 Months...

and 2 days! I can't believe how fast my pregnancy has gone. It's not even over yet but I can't help but already miss Baby M in my belly. I've had the best pregnancy ever and can't imagine him being here in less than 2 months (if going by his due date).

Yesterday my mom and family threw Mr.M and I a baby shower. It was done so well and EVERYONE had a blast. We received so many generous gifts and have been blessed to have so many people who love us and Baby M show up. If you didn't guess yet, the theme was Mickey Mouse! :) I have so many pictures to sort through and hope to have them up soon...stay tuned!

7 Months!

I haven't had much to write about in the last few weeks. Today, however, I have hit a mark...the 7 month of being pregnant mark!

Mr.M and I went and had an ultrasound yesterday and found out all is well and our baby boy is weighing in at 2lbs. 13oz. which makes him in the 69th percentile! I can't believe how big he's getting already. The tech assured me, he's a good size and not "scary big" which we laughed about. I can't believe how fast my pregnancy has gone, in no time at all we'll have our baby boy home with us...so unreal! :)

Whistle While You Work

So after 5.5 months of being off of work, Mr.M's first day back on the job was today. I'm happy for him to be able to be back on his crew and making money again but now that leaves me at home...alone. I have the baby to talk to and believe it or not, he's pretty responsive but what will I do with the rest of my day? Today's plan is to start Spring Cleaning but that can only last so long.

What.Will.I.Do.Now?

Working on the Baby's Room

We started our project on Sunday. Actually, I should say Mr.M and my Dad started on Sunday. They stripped the ceiling, pulled off paneling, and took out the carpet. Today Mr.M and a friend started dry-walling the ceiling. Once that's done we'll paint, buy carpet, install the fan, put everything together and VOILA! Baby's room will look like this:

We're huge Disney/Mickey Mouse fans so it was a no brainer that the Baby's room will be done in "Vintage Mickey" so they call it.

We're Having a Baby, My Baby and Me

Mr. M and I found out the gender of our baby!

We kept it a secret for about a week until we received our announcement cards. I wanted to let everyone know the gender of the baby in a cute, unique way and was so lucky to have discovered http://www.fetalgreetings.com/. These are announcements coming straight from the baby (worded as if the baby was sending them out). Everyone absolutely loved them! Within a day of dropping the announcements in the mail we started receiving the calls congratulating us.

We had our ultrasound on February 12th and it was so hard to keep it a secret, but we did! Initially I didn't want to know the gender of the baby but after I lost the coin toss, I had no choice. I'm glad I came to terms with finding out the gender because once the baby came up on the screen, Mr. M blurted out, "There's his pecker!" He did this even before the tech could say anything. I cried and he smiled from ear to ear.

We'll soon be parents of a baby boy!

Sitting High, Hanging Low or All Round?

I'm talking about my baby bump.

Does it really hold true that the gender of your baby can be told by how you're carrying your baby?

I've always had a feeling that our baby will be a girl. I don't have any preference at all though, it is just a feeling I have. I, like many moms out there just want a healthy baby. Today as I was taking one of my 837 passes at the mirror to look at my stomach, I noticed that today I'm hanging low. I then told Mr.M that I think we're having a boy now because of how I was carrying the baby. He says all that stuff is crap and that it is an old wives tale. I guess we'll see. I will be scheduling our "anatomy scan" between now and February 23 in which time we will also find out the gender of our little one (if he/she is cooperating).

In addition to the anatomy scan to check that all the baby is developing correctly, I recently took an alpha-fetoprotein (blood) test to check for spinal cord defects and the possibility of Down syndrome. The results have probably gotten to our Doctor by now but we'll get the results at our next checkup. I pray everything is alright and my baby will be healthy. It's all a waiting game now. Wish us health :)

No Recap

I'd also like to quickly note, there will not be a recap of holiday festivities.

They're so late year :)

Watching History

My tv hasn't changed channels for 9 hours now as I'm watching all the inaugural festivities. Listening to Obama's speech and looking at the faces of all the inspired onlookers brought me to tears. I don't know if it is the hormones or what but I sat there with tears falling down my face in total awe of this man. I am so proud to be an American and think things are DEFINITELY going to change with President Obama leading us. I'm so happy that President Obama is taking reign as I'll be bringing my little one into the world. So many people are on board with him and know it's not only up to him to change the direction of the country but on us all to make our pledge to America. God Bless President Obama, Vice President Biden, their families and America!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Yes, I'm late. So what?

There will be a recap of all festivities later :)

Tomorrow I'll be 4 months pregnant!

I'm feeling really good and we'll be finding out the gender of Baby M in one more month.
Any bets?
