8 Months...
Yesterday my mom and family threw Mr.M and I a baby shower. It was done so well and EVERYONE had a blast. We received so many generous gifts and have been blessed to have so many people who love us and Baby M show up. If you didn't guess yet, the theme was Mickey Mouse! :) I have so many pictures to sort through and hope to have them up soon...stay tuned!

7 Months!
Mr.M and I went and had an ultrasound yesterday and found out all is well and our baby boy is weighing in at 2lbs. 13oz. which makes him in the 69th percentile! I can't believe how big he's getting already. The tech assured me, he's a good size and not "scary big" which we laughed about. I can't believe how fast my pregnancy has gone, in no time at all we'll have our baby boy home with us...so unreal! :)

Working on the Baby's Room
We're huge Disney/Mickey Mouse fans so it was a no brainer that the Baby's room will be done in "Vintage Mickey" so they call it.

We're Having a Baby, My Baby and Me
We kept it a secret for about a week until we received our announcement cards. I wanted to let everyone know the gender of the baby in a cute, unique way and was so lucky to have discovered http://www.fetalgreetings.com/. These are announcements coming straight from the baby (worded as if the baby was sending them out). Everyone absolutely loved them! Within a day of dropping the announcements in the mail we started receiving the calls congratulating us.
We had our ultrasound on February 12th and it was so hard to keep it a secret, but we did! Initially I didn't want to know the gender of the baby but after I lost the coin toss, I had no choice. I'm glad I came to terms with finding out the gender because once the baby came up on the screen, Mr. M blurted out, "There's his pecker!" He did this even before the tech could say anything. I cried and he smiled from ear to ear.
We'll soon be parents of a baby boy!

Sitting High, Hanging Low or All Round?
Does it really hold true that the gender of your baby can be told by how you're carrying your baby?
I've always had a feeling that our baby will be a girl. I don't have any preference at all though, it is just a feeling I have. I, like many moms out there just want a healthy baby. Today as I was taking one of my 837 passes at the mirror to look at my stomach, I noticed that today I'm hanging low. I then told Mr.M that I think we're having a boy now because of how I was carrying the baby. He says all that stuff is crap and that it is an old wives tale. I guess we'll see. I will be scheduling our "anatomy scan" between now and February 23 in which time we will also find out the gender of our little one (if he/she is cooperating).
In addition to the anatomy scan to check that all the baby is developing correctly, I recently took an alpha-fetoprotein (blood) test to check for spinal cord defects and the possibility of Down syndrome. The results have probably gotten to our Doctor by now but we'll get the results at our next checkup. I pray everything is alright and my baby will be healthy. It's all a waiting game now. Wish us health :)

No Recap
They're so late year :)
Watching History
My tv hasn't changed channels for 9 hours now as I'm watching all the inaugural festivities. Listening to Obama's speech and looking at the faces of all the inspired onlookers brought me to tears. I don't know if it is the hormones or what but I sat there with tears falling down my face in total awe of this man. I am so proud to be an American and think things are DEFINITELY going to change with President Obama leading us. I'm so happy that President Obama is taking reign as I'll be bringing my little one into the world. So many people are on board with him and know it's not only up to him to change the direction of the country but on us all to make our pledge to America. God Bless President Obama, Vice President Biden, their families and America!Thursday, January 8, 2009

My Long Thankful Recap
So many thing have happened since my last entry.
Lets see if I can do this in order:
+ Ryan's surgery was on Oct. 7th, I'm so THANKFUL that it went well. He had his surgery in Simi Valley at the Aspen Cener and they were absolutely great. He was in and out in record time, I think I waited for a whole 45 minutes before I was brought in to sit with him while he woke up from anesthesia. I brought him home and he recovered fairly quickly.
+ My dad's birthday was Oct. 29th and I was THANKFUL to have our family together to celebrate his birthday with a pizza party he requested. I made a gorgeous double chocolate cake only to have screwed up by trying to write "Happy Birthday Dad" and having a huge glob of icing plop out and make it look ugly but it was still so darn good.
+ Halloween came and went. I wasn't able to have my Kid's Halloween Party this year but I was THANKFUL to still fit in my Mrs. Incredible costume and join our friends in a walk around the neighborhood to trick-or-treat.
+ November kind of came and went. I was THANKFUL to be able to spend the holiday with my mom's family and my dad's family, although missing out on spending it with my husband and his family. It was fun to get all together like we have for so many years and be THANKFUL for all that we have. This was the first Thanksgiving without my Grandpa Ernie but I sure know he was with us, especially since Margret made the gravy and it came out so good. He definitely played a part in that. Side note- Margret doesn't really cook. A few Thanksgivings ago she attempted to make the traditional pumpkin pie, however, her pumpkin pie had two crusts...yep...two! SO you now know what I mean by my grandpa helping her out :)
+ My mom and I went shopping on Black Friday. I was THANKFUL for the tradition we've kept on, the laughs we had, the time we spent together, the sales we made, and the open Denny's we found at 2:30am!
+ Last but DEFINITELY not least, I'm THANKFUL for the little person growing inside of me. Ryan and I found out on October 21st that we're having a baby! We had our first ultrasound on November 20th and have pictures of the little one. All my tests came out normal and the baby has a strong heartbeat. As of today, I am 10 weeks and 5 days pregnant. The baby is due June 26, 2009. We are blessed.

Boo...No More Fun Outings
Our friends hosted game night on Saturday and cooked up a wonderful, tasty, spicy jambalaya (hence the BAM). We went through 2 bottles of wine, an 18 pack of Tecate, and 13 refills of Dr. Pepper. The chosen game of the night was Catch Phrase! I had never played Catch Phrase so I didn't know what to expect. OH.MY.GOSH this game is so freaking FUN! Mr. M and I stayed for 11 HOURS eating, drinking, yelling, playing, hitting, laughing, and teasing. We are a rambunctious group who have all known each other for years. You wouldn't believe all the weird, obscene words that were being yelled out. If you haven't played this game yet, you need to jump in the car, go to target, purchase the game, and get a group of your closest friends together and play it tonight. It is THAT much fun.
Why is this post titles, "Boo...No More Fun Outings"? Mr. M hurt his knee at work and tomorrow he has knee surgery. Thankfully it is just a scope this time. He hurt his knee while playing basketball about two years ago and needed an ACL replacement. He'll be on crutches for a while, while he heals up. We'll be on HOUSE ARREST for some time.
Please keep Mr. M in your prayers tomorrow OR cross your fingers for him OR think happy thoughts at 9:00am tomorrow.

Whoa, I've been TAGGED!
I have been tagged by Brooke. Thanks for starting me off right!
Whoa! "I'm so excited, I'm so excited, I'm so....scared". NOT! But do you know where that line is from? (Just a little bit of trivia for ya)
Six random things about myself:
1. I LOVE ketchup. I don't just like it, I LOVE it...from eggs to cheese doritos to grilled cheese sandwiches and Original Lays potato chips I love it. I kid you not, I use at least a half of a bottle while eating breakfast or lunch in a restaurant. I've been bet on for my love of ketchup and WON. The bet was that after I piled TONS of ketchup on my hamburger that I was bound to have a least one splat on the plate. L-O-V-E.
2. I make THE BEST potato salad. It is my own recipe and is so freaking good. Compliments are always given when I make it.
3. I was so shy growing up that I couldn't call and order a pizza. I never played ANY sports because I didn't want people to come and watch me play, and yet I was Senior Class President
4. My husband and I are trying to get pregnant :)
5. I LOVE entertaining. I do it ALL the time. We have sweet gatherings for any reason at all.
6. I know TONS of random lines from Cocktail and La Bamba and often perform them while camping
The "rules" of the game are as follows:
1. Post the rules on your blog
2. Write 6 random things about yourself
3. Tag 6 people at the end of your post

Lake Day(s)
Here is my brief recap of our outings:
We decided to go to the Lake since my Dad would be camping for one day (Friday). He had his spot and we swung by to pick up him and his baby Lucy (Jack Russell). We spent the whole day with family and friend on the lake.
These are in the wrong order, I know but each time I try to upload my pictures it always puts the last ones first. Help anyone? I use the "Add Image" tool and can't seem to figure it out. I guess from now on I'll just add in the last pictures first.

Mini Vacation
Ok, so we've been back from the lake for a while now and I have ALREADY been slacking off on my blog.
We had a GREAT trip!
Our new trailer is so awesome, I don't know how we ever managed without it. We went out fishing everyday we were there and caught a lot of fish. My mom (is deathly afraid of water) had no problem jumping on the pontoon boat and had fun on it. Mr. M and I are now thinking about trading in the Chaparral for a pontoon!

Great Models
Every year they go on a mini vacation during the week of their anniversary. This year it's not a week long trip and we're going too! We'll be taking our trailer up to Lake Nacimiento to visit Mr.M's mom and stepdad. It'll be a GREAT trip, we're all really looking forward to it.
This will be our trailer's maiden voyage so hopefully we don't end up forgetting to many things. I really should be asleep right now since we're leaving at 6:00 am but I couldn't miss posting on the second day of having my blog so here you go!
See ya again on Sunday. Here's a map of the "Dragon Lake." (do you see it?)
